Style Icon: Lauren Conrad

12 Jul

Laguna Beach darling Lauren Conrad is our current style crush! We love her chic southern California style! This fashionista can always be spotted rocking a casual outfit with a touch of glamour! Whether strolling around town or appearing on the red carpet, Lauren knows exactly how to keep it sweet and sophisticated, with a dash of sexiness!  In 2011, Lauren launched an oh-so adorable LA-based label, Paper Crown! The line is inspired by Lauren’s love for fanciful design elements that go beyond the boundaries of everyday fashion, while focusing on fabric and quality.  The greatest thing about this line is that it embodies Lauren’s very own style, so its not surprise that LC is so often spotted wearing pieces from the collection. Whether you’re seeking a playful cocktail dress, cute blazers or a flowy maxi, Paper Crown is a fabulous collection that carries must-have designs for your closet!

It seems that Lauren always knows how to put together a winning outfit. Although some may call it safe, we like to think of it as timeless!  Here are a few lessons from LC’s style:

LESSON ONE:  Lauren’s go-to outfit is a fitted pair of pants (she loves her leather!) or shorts with an adorable loose blouse. We’ve come to learn that this is a Lauren staple! We love the perfect balance that this look creates, combining a feminine silhouette on top with a hip-hugging bottom!

For an evening look, we love the way Lauren adds some edge to an otherwise romantic, good-girl look with these leather leggings:

Lauren’s casual style is on the same trend, pairing fitted skinny denim with a looser sweater or blouse:

In the warm California summer, Lauren tucks her leather away and opts out for a cute pair of shorts balanced with loosely fitted top:

LESSON TWO: A good blazer is a staple in any girl’s closet, and especially in Lauren’s. The girl knows how to pull any look together with the perfect blazer. We adore blazers because they are so versatile – dress them up or wear them casually, they are just perfect! Lauren has shown us just how versatile blazers can be, with her effortlessly chic pairing of blazers with anything from pants to cute dresses and shorts!

We love the way Lauren paired this casual outfit with a blazer! A slightly oversized blazer with the sleeves rolled up is the pinnacle of a relaxed, chic look!

LESSON THREE: Being the ultimate sun-kissed California girl, its no surprise that Lauren’s signature style includes oversized sunnies, bronzed cheeks and of course long, flowy maxi dresses. Whether rocking the red carpet, strolling around town, or heading out for the night, we can count on Lauren to always look fabulous and fashionable in a maxi! We adore maxi skirts and dresses because they elongate the body and create a slender hourglass silhouette while creating that beach chic look that we all crave!

We love the side tie bow which accentuates the waistline and elongates the form, creating a beautiful silhouette!

LESSON FOUR: Lauren’s style is so feminine and classic, it is no wonder that she so often turns to dresses! Whether she is rocking a darling summer dress or an exquisite evening dress, Lauren always keeps her look clean and classic, making her oh-so elegant!

We just loved this Valentino number that Lauren sported to the wedding of her ultimate frenemy – Speidi! Lauren just seems to never disappoint! The a-line skirt is so feminine and sweet, combined with some killer black pumps and a classic Channel.

Lauren is all about balance – if we see her legs, there is no cleavage – and we live by that same rule! This dress is no exception – the full coverage in the front is balanced by showing off her legs and a glimpse of her back.  Is  it just us or is this look somewhat  reminiscent of Old Hollywood Glam?  Lauren is definitely a darling for Old Hollywood and the girl knows how to do it well!
